When the family breaks down, MNCH becomes a refuge for these Navajo families and their children. Caring for their children offers an opportunity for the Navajo parents to get on their feet and for MNCH to give care and hope to their children. Manuelito Children’s Home and Gallup Christian School is a necessity for the Navajo People. Every dollar goes to change the lives of these precious Navajo children. They are cared for, looked after, encouraged, and mentored at our school. Your gift will have an immediate impact on their education, clothing, meals and care.
A few years ago, a small apartment complex of six were donated to us in the town of Portales . This increased our capacity to 10 apartments for single parent families. In 2015, we purchased 7 acres in Portales to build "Hope Haven" a 15 duplex community for single parents. We built as we raised the money and in July 2018, we completed the construction of Hope Haven giving us 15 duplexes and a home for our campus minister. We now have capacity for 40 single parent families and we remain full with a waiting list.

Home Study-- As with many states, New Mexico is standardized on the SAFE process. Our staff are certified and will engage in multiple in-home interviews with all family members. If you reside out-of-state, arrangements will be made on an individual basis to coordinate a SAFE home study. This will also include a Home Safety Inspection, but don't worry. We will go over the expectations of the inspection before the inspection so you will know what we are looking for in the Home Safety Checklist.
The New Mexico Christian Children’s Home has begun working to provide care and opportunities for new mothers that have not always been readily available to them in the past. With New Mother Homes, there are opportunities for counseling, social services coordination and spiritual guidance. The goal of NMBCH has always been to make a difference in the lives of the children God entrusts to our care.

We accomplished this without government funds as we rely on churches and individuals for our support. The future is bright at the New Mexico Christian Children's Home. We currently have 45 children in our residential care and 80 children and 40 single parents in our single parent program.

Our mission is to serve the needs of children in whatever situation they find themselves. The problem that we are focusing on is the need in our society to strengthen and serve families. Through our residential homes we strive to serve children who are in need of a home due to the parents' inability or unwillingness to provide for their children. We completed construction on a new cottage in 2019 to replace an old cottage. We completed a renovation on our main campus playground in May 2020. We began our Single Parent program in 1983 with a few apartments on our main campus.

At NMCCH, we believe that the truest human purpose is to join God in loving others as He would have us love them. Believing in God's desire for people to be just, to be merciful, walk humbly, and love one another, we strive to help people in need. In a phrase, we stand by the words Jesus spoke when he said, "go and do likewise." A rep from PED pointed me to the 2019 attendance for success act.
